TOP SHELF    Detail for Item 903

A rare example of one of the most popular figures in English pottery, St George and the Dragon. Bold, underglaze colors on pearlware with framed initials T M and H M inside the hollow base. Opposite side of base has the numbers 1838 , the three rather small. This seems to be more than twenty years too late to be a date! Yorkshire or Staffordshire.
